Technology Team 

Purpose (Scope of Ministry):  To administer church network/website

Basic Objectives:

  1. To provide support to the church and Child Development Center for computers, network and software
  2. Administer church website
  3. Maintain a secure church network
  4. Monitor compliance of church network usage
  5. Make recommendations on purchases of technological equipment (i.e. computers, printers, software etc.)

Ministry Team Composition Requirements:

  • Church Membership: Yes
  • Chairman: Selected by nominating committee and elected by church body
  • Length of service: 1 year term, renewable
  • Main Staff Contact: Pastor for Discipleship & Administration
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must possess computer networking skills, web building and maintenance
    • At least two members of the IT team must have full administrative privileges at all times.  This will ensure that the ministry can quickly return to full functioning after technical problems on weekdays or Sunday mornings. 

General Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and update church website
    1. This can be delegated to a skilled volunteer or staff member.
  2. Maintain Church/CDC computer network infrastructure and server
  3. Provide internet service and email
  4. Maintain hardware, software, virus protection for Church & CDC
  5. Sets computer and network policies to maintain a secure network and protect church data
  6. Polices network and reports inappropriate usage
  7. Make annual budget recommendations to the finance committee and manage expenses against approved budget for new equipment and upgrades (Computers, Printers, software etc.)

Measurements of Effectiveness:

  • Church offices and Child Development Center stay up and running
  • Wi-Fi is available to church staff and members
  • Network, web site and email are functioning properly
