Worship Audio / Visual Team

Purpose (Scope of Ministry): To provide audio/visual support to SMRBC

Basic Objectives: To provide a worshipful experience during all events using audio/visual tools available

 Ministry Team Composition Requirements:

  • Church Membership: Yes (Chairman), No (Team Members)
  • Chairman: Selected by Nominating Committee and elected by church body
  • Length of service: 1 year term
  • Main Staff Contact: Director of Music
  • Other Requirements:
    • A desire to serve
    • An ability and interest in learning and using technology to aid in worship
    • Time available on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and/or Thursday nights to rehearse and run audio/visual
    • Time available at other times to train on, troubleshoot, perform maintenance on, or set up audio/visual equipment

General Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Director of Music or other staff to support events as directed
  • Be available as assigned for rehearsals and performances on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, Wednesday nights, Thursday nights, or for special rehearsals and events
  • Train on, study, and develop skills in using audio/ visual tools (software, hardware, equipment, interfaces, etc.)
  • Set up and/or prepare Audio and Visual equipment as needed before an event
  • Operate equipment during event
  • Record sermon and other elements of event as required and process files as directed to make available for media distribution
  • Aid in other duties as requested and helpful to ministries of the church (assisting with offering, logging attendance, queuing the ushers, etc.)
  • Aid in arranging coverage for events you are unable to attend

A/V Director/Manager Responsibilities:  (See Job Description for additional details)

  • Lead volunteers in the duties listed above
  • Work closely with church staff to address A/V needs and concerns for the ministry needs of the church
  • Monitor and design A/V solutions for the ministry needs of the church
  • Design, place, repair, maintain, or replace A/V equipment as needed and helpful
  • Prepare songs and media for presentation software.
  • Make annual budget recommendations to the Finance Committee and manage expenses against approved budget
  • Develop training documentation for volunteers and staff

Measurements of Effectiveness:

  1. Audio/Visual media is prepared and in working order for all events.
  2. Audio/Visual for events is effective and non-distracting.
  3. Volunteers are engaged and interested in A/V support for the church.

Weekly Audio/Video recordings are available to be posted on Church’s podcast in a timely manner.
