Media Center Ministry Team

Purpose (Scope of Ministry): To provide books and other media that will edify and equip church members

Basic Objectives:

To house and circulate books, books-on-CD, and DVDs for all ages that can be checked out by church members to encourage their knowledge of the Bible and the Christian life

Ministry Team Composition Requirements:

Church Membership: Yes
- Director: Selected by Nominating Committee and elected by church body
Length of service: 1 year term
Main Staff Contact: Associate Pastor for Discipleship & Administration
Other Requirements:
- Team members help patrons when they have questions, help shelve books, help cover books
- Select team members are required to know how to enter books, etc. into the computer
- Select team roles are required to know how to catalog books, etc.

General Responsibilities:

Non Fiction - Provide resources for Bible study and Christian growth by Christian writers
General Reading – Titles that provide history, inspiration, fiction, mystery, biography and parenting in the form of books, DVDs and books-on-CD
Younger and Middle Children – Picture and story books, easy reading and chapter books for young children (readers) that encourage Christian values, DVDs, CDs, Books-on-CD that provide knowledge and entertainment
Computer Catalog – Books in the library are entered on computer and can be found by subject, title and author. Each book is cataloged. It is entered in the computer, given a number, covered, and a book pocket and card are placed in the back before it is placed on the shelf.
Titles should be approved by the Associate Pastor for Discipleship & Administration before purchasing or shelving
Make annual budget recommendations to the finance committee and manage expenses against approved budget
