Jim Booth, Senior Pastor. Jim’s first Sunday at SMRBC was June 25, 2006. After ten years focusing overseas with the IMB,God led Jim’s family to invest themselves in the Richmond area through this special church. Jim is committed to faithfully and joyfully teaching the Scriptures, while leading us as a church to maintain a missionary mindset toward our community and the ends of the earth. His preparation for ministry took place at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee (M.Div.) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina (D.Min.). Jim and Joy are the parents of three daughters. As you join with us, Pastor Jim looks forward to getting to know you and equipping you for a life of joy and impact in and through Jesus Christ.

Tommy Knighten, Associate Pastor, Discipleship & Administration. Tommy joined our staff in 2012 beginning in the children and family role. In 2015 he was asked to take on this new role with Discipleship and Administration. Tommy leads our efforts to encourage and equip every member of our church to become a growing disciple who is making disciples. Tommy and his wife, Stephanie met while serving as missionaries in Africa. Tommy completed a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He and Stephanie have three small children.

Adam Nuckols, Associate Pastor for Student Ministries. Adam brings a deep and contagious love for Jesus to this role, along with much experience working with students and parents. Prior to coming to SMRBC, Adam was the Family Life Pastor at a church in Charlottesville. Before moving to Virginia, he taught and coached in a public high school setting in Texas for over seven years. His preparation for ministry took place at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary where he completed his Master of Divinity degree in 2014. Adam is a godly man who loves Jesus, loves students, and is focused on making disciples.

Dustin McElduff, Associate Pastor, Children & Families. Dustin’s heart is to equip and partner with parents to raise up another faithful andcourageous generation for Christ. In this role he also seeks to s equip husbands and wives for healthy and happy marriages and homes. Dustin joined our staff in October 2015 after previous service as a public school teacher, IMB missionary, and teacher of missionary children preparing to serve overseas with their families. He and Julie are parents of three young children. Dustin’s preparation for ministry took place at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.

Marsha Perkins, Music Director. Marsha and her family have been a part of Staples Mill for a number of years. If you spend any time around her or attend our worship services, you will sense her genuine love and enthusiasm for worshiping God. This is a godly woman with an energetic heart for God, who gives her all in helping us connect with Him through song each time we are together. Marsha’s passion for God is rooted in her commitment to God’s Word. The songs she chooses are not only musically appealing but also theologically sound. She and Chuck have two grown sons.
